FC Barcelona Brush — Custom typeface
FC Barcelona — one of the top and most iconic football teams worldwide — were refreshing their brand identity and SUMMA Branding came to us to help develop a custom script font.
We designed a bouncy informal brush script with subtle inline stroke texture, written with flair, rhythm and spontaneity. After the paper and ink stage, we built FC Barcelona Brush: a workable font that retains the same spontaneity and freedom that the brush produces.
The font includes a few pro features. When the same letter is typed twice in a row the alternative character automatically swaps into place to avoid repetition. A selection of ending letter “alternates” are included to have a more expressive and “powerful” out stroke — like the final strike of a ball.
